Delta Rho Chapter

If you are interested in pledging Kappa Psi you came to the right place. Kappa Psi is short for Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Incorporated. Kappa Psi is the largest and oldest Pharmacy Fraternity. Kappa Psi was founded on May 30, 1879 by F. Harvey Smith. Every Pharmacy School in the State of Florida has a chapter of Kappa Psi. The chapter here at Nova was founded in 1998 by John Michael O'Brien.
 

Pledging for Kappa Psi occurs once during the year, during the fall semester to be exact. Pledging is open to P1 and P2 students, although you could possibly join as a P3 if the desire was there. You have to attend events or rush events as they are formally called. At these rush events we get to know you as a person and you get to know the Brothers of Kappa Psi and what we stand for. After attending a certain number of rush events if you are deemed worthy to join us you will be given a bid card.
 

If you accept the bid card to join Kappa Psi you will enter the "Pledging" period. During this time, you and the other pledge brothers will have to complete a certain number of tasks. The tasks typically involve but are not limited to a service event, a road cleanup, a fundraiser and a theme party. After the pledging period is over and all tasks and tests are completed the "Initiation" period will begin. Sorry, but I can not give out any details about this period. If you successfully pass the initiation period you will become a full Brother in Kappa Psi.
 

Brotherhood in Kappa Psi is considered an elite status. You will have a special connection with Brothers from chapters all over the United States and the one chapter in Canada. This connection and brotherhood will stay with you and hopefully continue long after you graduate. Remember, there will be a hundred hands ready to help you.
